There is a lot more to this burger than the whiskey mushroom flavor. It is loaded with bacon, onions, and everything else to pack a meaty punch.
May is almost over! But don’t worry, I did not forget about Burger Month. Things have been a little low key this year, and the whole family is on the mend from the latest bout with Omicron, but this Whiskey Mushroom Burger slips in under the line as a late May entry.
What is in a Whiskey Mushroom Burger?
There is a lot of flavor to this burger, but the ingredients are simple. It is packed with pureed mushroom and bacon, plenty of ground sirloin and a liberal dash of not-so-secret seasonings.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs of ground sirloin
- 8oz of maple bacon, pureed
- 6 oz of white mushrooms, pureed
- 2 tbsp of Tennessee steak seasoning
How to make the Whiskey Mushroom Burger
This recipe really is as simple as mixing it all together.
I measured out 7oz burgers and separated them on parchment paper to make transferring to the grill easy.
Make sure to push a dimple down in the center because these burgers will contract considerably due to the bacon content.
Where is the Whiskey??
It’s in the sauce. And this is pretty simple too.
Whiskey Worcestershire Aioli
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp whiskey
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire
Blend this all together until smooth. You can spoon it on, or put it into a squirt bottle like I did.
Grill up your burgers in your favorite way, sauté some mushrooms and onions, and serve.
I used a charcoal acorn smoker, and kept the burgers well away from the flame to avoid any bacon blazes. Those can be pretty insane. I also threw in a handful of Jack Daniels Tennessee whiskey barrel woodchips.
We get pretty excited for Burger Month every year. Here are some of our previous creations.
