Eat After 7PM (no really, you should)

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

If you follow along on Instagram you might have noticed that I occasionally post runs and mention “healthy meals” that I’ve eaten. Occasionally. I know that the easy assumption is that I do this all the time, and have total control over my time management and meal plans (Just look at all the amazing food on the site!). But nope, not really. I did really well for a while too. Running 3 days a week and doing online workouts 3 more. I run a little more now that the weather is nice. And I had joined a running group on Tuesday nights, but COVID…

This is why I run

So, my weight goes up and down, generally between 170 and 200 lbs (I know, that’s an insane range) and I have been wanting to get serious about shedding some of that excess weight, increasing my energy and just feeling better in general. And while I don’t hate running (I sound awful enthusiastic about it right?), I don’t know how to fit in the 30 miles a week that it has always taken to keep my weight down so that I can keep up with the kids. So I jumped at the chance to receive an advance copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM” by Joel Marion.

Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my experience of the book and diet (and hopefully some awesome benefits!) Basically, the Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

I’M IN. (What better time to start right? No pressing social obligations at the moment 😉)

First thing I noticed, I thought eating late was against the rules?!  I have seriously forced myself to go to bed hungry after getting off of an overnight shift driving a tugboat at 6am so that I didn’t eat before passing out. Straight to the rack, do not pass the galley on penalty of diet implosion. Probably hundreds of times.

Providing studies and his own experience battling weight, this book gets right to it. After doing the research, Joel decided to put his theory to the test and the results were awesome! 12 lbs down in the first 2 weeks, 46 lbs after 16 weeks, flatter abs and more energy. SIGN ME UP. But what really struck a chord with me was this:

“At my next medical checkup, my doctor was shocked at how good my blood work had gotten, so quickly. And let’s not forget the most important part: for the first time in months, I had the energy to keep up with my little girls.”

I’m excited to dive in and give this a go! I’ll post an update next week, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, check out this video on Joel’s top tips for success.
